Susanna Campbell, Harp

Susanna Campbell’s passion for music in general and the harp in particular has led her to share her enthusiasm with others as a freelance harpist for weddings, receptions, church services, and other special events in Greater Houston.  She has had the pleasure of performing at a variety of stylish venues such as the St. Regis Hotel, the Houston Club, the Petroleum Club, Tuscany Villa, and the Courtyard at St. James and is the preferred harpist for Briscoe Manor, a beautiful event facility in Richmond.

Susanna began her study of the harp at age nine and started freelancing three years later.  She was a 1st place winner of the Mildred Milligan Harp Competition in 2010, winner of the Jan Pennington Gray Harp Scholarship in 2008, first chair harpist for the All-State Symphony Orchestra in 2007, and winner of the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra’s Young Artist Concerto Competition in 2005.  After completing high school, Susanna opened a music studio in her home and began exploring the fascinating world of music with harpists of all ages.  She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in harp performance at Stephen F. Austin State University under the instruction of Ms. Emily Mitchell.

Susanna enjoys performing with orchestras and chamber ensembles and is enjoying her fifth season as principal harpist with the Houston Civic Symphony under the direction of Dr. Brian Runnels and Mr. Michael Isadore.  Previously, Susanna served as principal harpist for the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra and performed with the Symphony of Southeast Texas, the Symphony North of Houston, and the Galveston Symphony.  Susanna also participates in the chamber orchestra at Christ Church PCA in Katy.
