Lorraine started playing the violin at the age of 10 at Houser Intermediate School. In high school, she joined the Montgomery County Youth Orchestra and performed all over Texas as the concertmaster for two years under the direction of Kate Walker. Lorraine began studying privately at the age of 16 with Andrew Wilson, and continued studying violin with him for 7 years through college. Lorraine attended Sam Houston State University where she earned a degree in Music Education with an emphasis on violin.

While at SHSU, Lorraine played under the direction of Dr. Carol Smith in both the symphony orchestra and the chamber orchestra. As a member of these orchestras, Lorraine had the opportunity to go on tours throughout Texas and Eastern Europe, performing in Hungary, Austria, and the Czech Republic.  She was concertmaster for both orchestras during her final semester of college.  For the four years of college, she was the head orchestra librarian for both the symphony and chamber orchestra. She has continued her violin education since graduation, studying for 2 years with Dr. Lisa Burrell.

Lorraine has performed with the Brazos Valley Symphony, the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra, and for 5 years she was Co-Principal of the Conroe Symphony Orchestra. She is currently the Orchestra director at Washington Junior High in Conroe. She has taught private violin and viola lessons since 2002 in various areas of Texas including Bryan/College Station, Huntsville, Katy, Klein and Conroe.

She has performed live with Ricky Skaggs, Ray Price, Christopher Cross, and a number of local Christian bands for CD releases. She also performs regularly with several Houston area churches.
