Heather Nielson Corbett, Violin
Heather Nielson Corbett began studying violin at the age of 12 under the direction of Ellen Townly. At the age of 14 under the Direction of Carolyn Vandiver, Heather auditioned and played for the Houston Youth Symphony. She played with HYS for a total of 4 years. During Heather’s senior year in high school, she auditioned and played with Virtuosi of Houston. Mrs. Corbett attended the Interlochen Center for the Arts, a summer music program focusing on private and orchestral instruction. She has also spent two summers studying at Meadowmount School of Music. While attending at Meadowmount, she studied privately under Cyrus Frough and Paula Elliott. Heather also worked with Steven Rochen and Paula Elliott for chamber coaching sessions during her time spent at Meadowmount.

Heather attended college at Sam Houston State University, where she received her Bachelors Degree in Music Performance. She studied privately under Andrew Wilson and Lisa Burrell. Heather has also played in two master classes. She has played for Alan Bodman and Dr. Clyde Roller. During her studies at Sam Houston State University, Heather played in the Sam Houston State Symphony Orchestra and the Sam Houston State Chamber Orchestra. Heather recorded on Celeste Terrell's debut album entitled "Live Your Dreams".

Heather performs regularly as a soloist and is also a member of the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra.
