Aimee Norris, Cello

Aimee began her cello studies at the age of 14, and at age 16 was already performing regularly with professional symphony orchestras in her native west Texas.  She received a Bachelor’s degree in Music Studies at the Butler School at UT Austin, where she studied under renowned pedagogue Phyllis Young.  During her time at UT, Aimee played in a wide variety of performance groups, including the Symphony Orchestra, Concert Band, Butler Center Opera Orchestra, Cello Choir, and the Austin String Ensemble.

After two great years of teaching orchestra in Katy ISD, Aimee now teaches private lessons and gives orchestra clinics all over the Houston area.  She is also an active worship musician, regularly performing with local Christian recording artists and worship leaders.  Locally, Aimee serves as the Principal Cellist for the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra.  With all the music in her life, Aimee most enjoys making music with her two young sons, who both love to sing and dance.
