Amy joined the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra in May 2003. She has served as President of the Board of Directors since 2004. Ms. Floyd was one of the founding members of Les Quatre Bois String Quartet, based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, and has been involved in numerous musical ensembles, including the Corelli Players and Collegium Musicum at the University of Saskatchewan, where she was a music student majoring in theory and composition for two years before pursuing a career in the field of business. Ms. Floyd has performed extensively, both as a soloist on flute, and in ensembles on flute, piano, and cello. She has also taught private flute and piano lessons.

She has performed live with Ray Price, BJ Thomas, Christopher Cross and Kansas and has been featured on studio recordings with local Texas artists.
